Captain Phillips
The other night I went to the cinema to see Captain Phillips. Oh my god. One word: intense. Extremely intense. Captain Phillips is based on a true story from 2009 about an American cargo being pirated by Somalian fisherman. I personally knew as little as the latter sentence about the story and for the majority of the film every muscle in my body was tensed. Although this does sound slightly painful, and perhaps it was, it was such an incredible experience. I really really loved this film. I absolutely love watching whatever's on Sky movies after school or on the weekend but because I'm always so tired I always opt for something light. Captain Phillips is most definitely not light. It is definitely not a film to watch when you're tired and a must to see in the cinema. The story stopped at the perfect time with a heart shattering moment of Rich Phillips finally safe yet very overwhelmed about the whole situation. The plot was extremely clear, which I think in a story like this is vital. Particularly if you are like me and do not know much about it when going in. Tom Hanks was absolutely fantastic, as per usual, and Barkhad Abdi was incredible. Both performances are ones that will stay with me for a very long time. If you get a chance to see Captain Phillips I would highly recommend you go! I am so glad I saw it.

Bastille cover We Can't Stop
I absolutely love BBC live lounge. Particularly the covers. I especially love Examples Tick Tock cover. Recently Bastille covered Miley Cyrus' We Can't Stop and I actually really like it. You can't deny that the original version of We Can't Stop is extremely catchy but you also can't deny that is is extremely annoying. Anyway, I'm going to stop rambling about Miley Cyrus and just insert the link for Bastille's cover -
Let me know what you think.

Summer Diaries - Kick Ass 2
The other night I went to see Kick Ass 2 with my mother and brother. Overall I really enjoyed the film, however I didn't think it was as good as the first one. I love Chloe Grace Moretz and Chris Mintz-Plasse and I thought they were fantastic. My family friend Andy Nyman was also in the film and he was fantastic (has to be said). I would definitely recommend it to a friend -

I Heart New York by Lindsey Kelk
I originally ordered this book after it was in one of the youtuber/blogger Zoella's favourites videos of YouTube. I thought I might as well get it as I'll be doing a lot of reading over the summer.
After reading The Fault In Our Stars I decided I needed something a lot more light hearted, so I started reading I Heart New York. It is an extremely easy read and perfect for the beach. I really enjoyed it and it was a nice break inbetween the more serious (ish) books I like to read and really get in to. There are quite a few sequels and I ordered two more, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the characters stories progress over the summer.

I would definitely recommend this series for a holiday or just a light read.
